Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme 2024 in Suffolk

The Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) Programme is funded through The Department for Education.

HAF enables children and young people to access enriching and fun activities, particularly those who receive free school meals. (If you think that your child may be eligible for benefit related free school meals please check and apply here: Apply for free school meals - Suffolk County Council)

The holiday activities allow children & young people to have fun with friends during the  Easter, Summer & Christmas school holiday periods.

In order to book onto these activities, guardians of eligible children will need to book spaces though directly contacting the provider via EEQU . Schools will not be providing the Wonde codes for eligibility for this holiday. Providers will complete their own eligibility checks.

Who is eligible and what do I need to access the programme

To be eligible for a HAF place, your child must be registered as eligible for Benefit related Free School Meals even if they are already in receipt of reception, year 1 & 2 free school meal via the universal offer.

Being registered for benefit related free school meals, is more than just a meal.  If you are eligible, we would encourage you to make sure that you register for free school meals even if your child is in reception, year 1 or 2 and receives the universal meal offer, as it opens the following benefits to your child and their school:

  • your child will receive a choice of meals at school free of charge
  • Your child’s school will receive additional funding to provide support that pupils may need
  • It enables you to access free school holidays activities at Easter, Summer and Christmas through The Suffolk Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) Programme
  • It enables you to access and be notified of any other school holiday support from the government if funding is made available.

If you think that your child/children may be eligible for means tested free school meals you can check to see if you qualify and apply through Apply for free school meals
